Each year, the city of Long Beach holds a tradition…the ever so popular Long Beach Grand Prix. Basically, they convert the city streets into a 1.96 mile race track for an Indycar race. Danica Patrick, the crowd favorite, started close to the end (position 22 out of 23), and while she was able to climb to second, she ended up finishing the race in fourth place. The UK’s Dario Franchitti ended up winning the race.
Special thanks to my good friend Abhi for letting us trash his condo (and the lovely Susan for the yummy food).
The view from the balcony is breathtaking…

Aileen and Jonathan had a beautiful wedding day. They looked absolutely stunning and the weather was perfect considering the weekdays prior to their Saturday wedding was pouring rain. I photographed Aileen & Jonathan’s engagement a few months back to help out a dear friend, Mark, who was sick. Because Mark is still recuperating, I ended up shooting the wedding as well. Mark was there at the wedding day, lugging his cameras around on his wheelchair…what a trooper!
The photos below are a few of my favorites. Thank you Aileen and Jonathan for having us at your wedding.

I had a wonderful time photographing Luz Angela’s and Joe’s wedding. Luz Angela and Joe are two of the nicest people I’ve ever photographed; and throughout the wedding, they were very patient and accomodating. These two also picked one of the best reception locations I’ve ever shot in - the Atheneum was simply gorgeous.

The amount of detail and work RJ’s parents put into his party is unbelievable - hand-made costumes, TIE fighter cupcakes, a “Jedi Training” session… they even converted the second floor of the house into a totally rad obstacle course. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

When Aileen and Jonathan told me they wanted to bring their dogs with them for their engagement session, I knew instantly that we were going to have an awesome and fun photo shoot.

Gotta love California weather. My session with Rosie and Matt was blessed with some of the most dramatic clouds of late. Add good subjects, and you have the recipe for some sweet shots. Congratulations Rosie and Matt!

I met with Renata’s family really early to have their photos taken, hoping we would have good morning light. We were met with something even better…a misty California beach. The soft mist was amazing! It simplified the color palette and helped me in getting dramatic minimalist images.
